A consumer-first resource
Our main guide explains when antibiotics may help, what to check while taking them and why careful use matters. Articles on individual medicines explain concepts and precautions, not how to select or dose a drug for yourself.
We aim to be accessible, calm and transparent about uncertainty. When an answer depends on a specific medicine or person, we direct readers to the leaflet, pharmacist or prescriber.
Why the name AIDA?
This domain formerly carried information about an EU-funded research consortium called AIDA, active from 2011 to 2017. We preserve historical context and useful links as clearly labelled archival summaries, but this site is not its official successor and does not speak for any former partner.
The current identity is new and independent.
How we work
We draw on sources such as NHS, CDC, WHO, MedlinePlus and European Commission CORDIS for historical facts. Articles show their sources and update date. No clinician review is claimed unless a real review has been completed and identified.
